Siwabessy, FMIPA UI, Depok. Lepa berhasil meraih gelar doktor dengan predikat cumlaude, serta Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) sempurna 4.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam disertasinya yang berjudul \u201cDeteksi Alel dan Mekanisme Resistansi Nyamuk&nbsp;<em>Anopheles sp.<\/em>&nbsp;Vektor Utama Malaria Terhadap Insektisida Permetrin (Piretroid) dan Bendiocarb (Karbamat) di Indonesia\u201d, Dr. Lepa mengungkapkan adanya ancaman serius yang muncul akibat resistansi nyamuk terhadap dua jenis insektisida utama, yang selama ini digunakan dalam pengendalian malaria, khususnya di wilayah-wilayah endemis, seperti Papua dan Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1614-768x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1614-768x512-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1614-768x512-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1614-768x512-1-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1614-768x512-1-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Keerom, Papua, serta Kabupaten Sumba Barat, dan Sumba Barat Daya, NTT, menggunakan pendekatan bioassay, biokimia, dan molekuler. Hasil temuan Dr. Lepa menunjukkan bahwa resistansi terhadap insektisida permetrin telah terjadi di Papua dan Sumba, sementara insektisida bendiocarb masih berstatus sensitif. Munculnya resistansi terhadap permetrin menyebabkan efektivitas intervensi pengendalian malaria, seperti penggunaan kelambu berinsektisida dan penyemprotan residu insektisida di dinding dalam rumah menjadi tidak efektif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPenelitian ini menyoroti isu mendesak dalam pengendalian malaria. Temuan ini menjadi alarm penting untuk memperbarui strategi pengendalian vektor berbasis data dengan menggunakan &nbsp;pendekatan molekuler,\u201d ujar Dr. Lepa dalam pemaparan hasil penelitiannya di hadapan tim penguji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam penelitiannya, Dr. Lepa merekomendasikan pemantauan rutin terhadap resistansi vektor nyamuk melalui pendekatan fenotipe dan genotipe, tidak menggunakan insektisida permetrin sebagai bahan aktif kelambu berinsektisida, IRS, dan intervensi vektor lainnya, serta penggunaan pendekatan inovatif seperti spatial repellent dalam pengendalian vektor malaria. Ia juga menekankan pentingnya penggunaan marka molekuler untuk mendeteksi resistansi sejak dini, yang akan membantu dalam merumuskan strategi pengendalian malaria yang adaptif dan berbasis bukti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1619-768x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1619-768x512-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1619-768x512-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1619-768x512-1-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/geografi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC_1619-768x512-1-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sidang terbuka ini menghadirkan Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D. (Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI) sebagai promotor, serta Astari Dwiranti, M.Eng., Ph.D. (Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI), dan Dr. Puji Budi Setia Asih (Pusat Riset Biologi Molekuler Eijkman dan BRIN) sebagai ko-promotor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Anom Bowolaksono selaku promotor menyampaikan apresiasi terhadap riset Dr. Lepa yang dinilai sangat relevan dalam konteks kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia. Ia menegaskan bahwa resistansi nyamuk vektor terhadap insektisida merupakan salah satu tantangan utama dalam program pengendalian malaria, terutama di wilayah endemis seperti Papua dan NTT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPenelitian ini menawarkan solusi konkret untuk mengatasi masalah resistansi insektisida yang semakin mengkhawatirkan. Pendekatan molekuler dan biokimia yang digunakan memberikan wawasan baru yang tidak hanya ilmiah, tetapi juga dapat dijadikan sebagai rujukan bagi para pembuat kebijakan, dalam merumuskan strategi pengendalian malaria yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan,\u201d ujar Prof. Anom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sebagai informasi, berdasarkan data Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia tahun 2024, Papua mencatat angka Annual Parasite Incidence (API) tertinggi di Indonesia, yakni 156,59, disusul oleh Gorontalo dan NTT dengan API 1,3 dan 1,25 untuk wilayah di luar Pulau Papua.
